Staff were lovely, and kind enough to let us hover on the balcony before we took our seats - they brought out a table and wine which was a lovely way for us to settle in!

The bistro is the same - live music some nights make up for it somewhat, but the food is average pub food at best and definitely overpriced for what it is. The indifferent staff and buzzer-collect service also put a damper on it.

We did a 3 course lunch menu and everyone LOVED what they had. The staff were able to recommended some shared entrees and they couldn't have chosen better.

There is a cafe, bar, restaurant and cinema, plus plenty of free parking. Baringo also has a lovely back garden with live music on Sundays. Highly recommend!

We were left to our own devices when we were chatting, but as soon as we were after something help was on hand. Perfect!

It used to be maybe a 4 out of 5 by Melbourne standards. Gourmet ingredients, mostly well-executed, innovative fare and great service. It is now a 2. Really poor quality mass commercial ingredients prepared by people who don't know how to cook. We've gone from 2010-era cafe to 1990-era. Really disappointing.

Beware of reviews posted before early 2017. Baringo changed hands then and has gone MASSIVELY downhill. Also beware it's now three venues in one. The Japanese out back (more upmarket) is still excellent and worthy of high praise (same chef as before). The café has gone MAJORLY downhill.

A real shame as this place has potential. 5 stars for the Japanese, 2 for the cafe. Averaging 3 overall.

We were very disappointed, the service was less than average, the first beef burger was very underdone and uneatable then the replacement was very overcooked, even burnt, asked for mayonnaise to help make it edible which took forever. So left and I am afraid, will not be back!
